GI 2019 Textile

This morning in my technology class at Tamaki College, we need to understand the meaning of textile? Textile is the current subject that our class will be learning about for the next three to four weeks. Textile is simply just fabric used for sewing.

DLO:Collaborative Problem Solving

WALT:Do word problems using the best strategy we know!
Today in groups/pairs our class were doing Collaborative Problem Solving. I found the task a bit harder than usually, but I managed to figure out the answer. The strategy I knew was the best to use was Algorithm! Using algorithm in this problem made my life easier, it was quite easy to solve by using algorithm. I actually learned very well to subtract and add large numbers. I enjoyed doing this activity with my pair, and I'm glad that I got the opportunity to learn new skills on this task by just simply using algorithm.

Rounding numbers & decimals

Today's morning session, my class and I played two games, a rounding number game, and rounding decimal game. I found the number game very easy and simple. But the decimal game was a bit tricky! I enjoyed playing both games and I'm very happy with my results, (for a starter).

The traffic light system!

Today my mate Eden and I have created a small DLO about the traffic light system. In this slide we have the green light for the Topic sentence, the yellow light for Elaborating sentences, and the last slide (slide 6) the Closing sentence, also known for the conclusion in a paragraph. In every slide shown below has a example and a definition of each traffic light sentence, which you can read to understand more about the traffic light system! 

Astria – Countdown to Impact’

“Students don’t learn much playing this game called Astria – Countdown to Impact: Their time could be better spent doing other things”.

I strongly disagree with this statement, about a teacher
from another school saying that the game "Astria – Countdown to Impact" is a waste of time! I believe that this game is a very helpful learning impact-full game, that helps develop a students' general knowledge. The game shows new vocabulary as well as new words for example "Schematic, Bias and Potential" (Shown In The Images Below). The game also shows the different types of solution categories around the area, such as:Sail Lab, Hangar, Nuke Lab and the "Council".

Prototec results

Prototec results
In my previous results from prototec I scored a number of 39 questions out of 40 questions right  . In my opinion I found this math practice test partly easy because I now understand the meanings of decimals converted into a fraction.. or a fraction converted into a percentage.
I agree that I have Improved much more than my last results, and I'm prepared to move onto stage 8 sooner this year! I really enjoyed learning new skills on stage 7 and also on stage 8 as well!
